It’s that time of year where we predict the upcoming trends for weddings in 2025! We’re seeing a continuation of trends from this year and last, as well as some new wedding trends! Here’s the things the Dine team predict are going to be big trends in weddings for 2025!
Content Creators at weddings
Content creators have become increasingly popular with our couples over the past 18 months, and we now see these regularly. The role of a content creator is to work alongside your wedding photographer or videographer to create short form wedding content that you can post on your social channels straight away. They will tend to capture less formal moments and behind the scenes shots, and create short, social media-ready clips, often edited to tie in with popular trends on platforms such as TikTok or Instagram. If you’re thinking of booking a content creator for your wedding day, make sure your photographer and videographer are aware, and your content creator knows they will have to make way for them. You need each supplier to have a specific role so nobody feels they have someone stepping on their toes.
Wedding videos
A full length wedding video is still a popular choice for couples, even amongst those also choosing a content creator. nothing captures the emotion of the day in quite the same way as a full wedding video. This is the high quality, professional video you’ll be watching back in years to come- tissues at the ready!
Colourful wedding flowers
The colours we are seeing coming through for wedding flowers are the bright, bold shades- pinks and oranges are increasingly popular, as well as clashing colours of reds and yellows. With Brides Magazine having named the perky orange colour Verona Sunset as their wedding colour of 2025, you’ll be fabulously on-trend by choosing orange and yellow florals for your big day.
Floral Wedding Dresses
Staying on the floral theme, floral wedding dresses are having a big moment. The feeling is boho, with lace, florals and details taking centre stage. Dahlia by Sassi Holford is a pretty take on this trend. For a more traditional version, opt for flower embroidery or appliqués like this one from Morilee
Mini Wedding Dresses
Mini wedding dresses are big for 2025, especially for those choosing city luxe venues like The Mansion. The cute take on a wedding dress isn’t just for the city cousins though; country weddings have also seen the mini wedding dress as a dress change for the evening reception. Changing out the princess silhouette for something sleeker and party-ready for the evening is very on-trend.
Tuxedos
The classic and timeless tuxedo is making a come back for the gents, alongside a more formal dress code for weddings. Coloured velvet tuxedo jackets are very now, with lots of jewel colours- dark red, olive, sapphire and navy- for both the groom and wedding guests.
Heart-shaped wedding cakes
Amongst the retro trend, retro styles for wedding cakes have been selling like… well hot cakes! Coming in thick and fast are heart shaped cakes, as well as other heart shaped sweet treats like biscuits, favours and cupcakes.
Live wedding painters
More couples are choosing experiences alongside the traditional entertainment, and here we see more couples opting for a wedding painter. A wedding painter will create a painting of your wedding day, and some also have packages where you can have paintings or sketches of your guests as a personalised favour. Micro weddings
For those looking to simplify the wedding, a micro wedding is the last of our wedding trends for 2025. Micro weddings- small guest numbers – started during the pandemic and have stuck around. However the budgets for these micro weddings are anything but micro! Having fewer guests but the same budget means being able to spend more per guest for a truly intimate, personalised experience. Offering bespoke menus, cocktails, and activities to enhance the guest experience is a must so don’t always think small wedding = small budget. Howsham Hall is a firm favourite for these couples, with ‘elopement’ weddings being the fastest growing trend.
Whether you choose to incorporate any or all of these trends is obviously up to you- your wedding should be about you and your likes and dislikes!
